Follow up to Mercury award nominated, The End Of History,

Irish Singer/songwriter from Bray, a coastal city south of Dublin

Fionn cites Bob Dylan as a major influence and in that tradition he has moved from the acoustic based direction of his debut to a more rocky and electric approach here. The Arc of Fionn's development as an artist is a sharply rising ascent as demonstrated on this great sophmore effort. Charasmatic wordplay is wound around an overall sombre and foreboding undercurrent. A folk poet of his time, showing potential of the masters he is so strongly influenced by. This album is a fully realised triumph. Country roots/roots folk roots are exposed on 'Lord Help My Poor Soul'. Punk tinges with anarchist sympathy & everyday man rebellion rings in 'Protection Racket', 'Coathook' & 'Violent Demeanour' . 'Genocide Matinee' is lyrically haunting with rocky tempo. Dylan echoes through 'Lines Written In Winter' & 'The Shadow Of The Empire' cannot escape comparisons to 'The Times They Are A Changin'. Neil Young is folded into the gentle melancholy of 'Little Nancy'.

Fionn is currently touring around his home country. Hopefully he comes to N.A. soon.
